There is a cozy 900 sq-ft, 1-bedroom, 1.5 bath cottage with a detached extra bedroom just up the hill. The cottage includes all modern amenities you could want for a comfortable stay. Outside beneath the towering Redwoods, you’ll find multiple outdoor spaces for dining, entertainment, exercise & relaxation. Experience Russian River living at its best!

Named after our pampered pooch, Rascal’s Flat is a true escape from city life. This charming, quaint hillside retreat has been lovingly renovated, comfortably furnished and tastefully decorated. The outdoor space is the true highlight, where you'll relax on the deck or soak in the hot tub while enjoying panoramic views of the surrounding Redwood giants. Rascal's Flat is an ideal space for a romantic getaway, a family vacation, remote working, or a wine tasting weekend with friends. You will have full and private access to the entire property during your stay. The spacious master bedroom is located on the lower level of the main house. It sleeps up to 2 adults and has a plush king bed, ensuite half-bath, large walk-in closet and 42-in TV. The room is equipped with blackout blinds and a white noise machine, so you're sure to sleep like a baby. And if you bring one, there's a pack-n-play available, which can even be set up in the walk-in-closet for added privacy. A second bedroom (aka “little house”) is detached from the main house, located just up the hill. This room very comfortably sleeps 1 adult, or cozily sleeps 2. It has a full-sized loft bed and 30-in TV. There is no bathroom in the little house - guests will need to use the full bath in the main house. The living room of the main house can serve as a third sleeping area. Like the little house, it is ideal for one adult but can sleep 2. The sofabed has a full-sized and very comfortable memory foam mattress; the living room also has a 42-in TV. The kitchen is well-equipped with everything you need to cook up delicious meals, including the basics like cooking oil, salt & pepper. The adjacent dining area seats 4. Just steps away on the main deck, you’ll find a gas grill, cafe seating for 2, and lounge seating for 4. The main deck is where we almost always dine, relax and entertain. Spend the evening cooking up dinner or relaxing and playing board games on the deck under the trees! In the little house, you’ll find a Peloton (bring your shoes!) and workout area, complete with yoga mats, a weight bench, and a set of adjustable Bowflex dumbbells. The hot tub is just outside the little house and comfortably holds 2. Spend the day wine tasting, hiking the coast or kayaking the river, then come back for a soak! Planning on remote working and/or learning during your stay? Rascal’s Flat has a workspace in the master bedroom; there is high-speed wifi internet access throughout the entire property. For entertainment, there are board games, puzzles, a record player and more. Most TVs have an Apple TV connection to stream all your favorites. For the adventurous, we have 2 kayaks you’re welcome to use (you will need the appropriate rack for your vehicle to transport). There's a lovely walk/hike you can do without even getting in your car, and several other wonderful hikes nearby as well. We have a newly installed Tesla charger that uses a NACS plug. Please plan to bring appropriate adapter for your specific vehicle. For example, CCS1 plugs for Tesla charger. If you leave the property to explore the local area, you'll find fabulous restaurants and abundant activities all around. We'll be happy to recommend our favorites! Rascal’s Flat is a dog-friendly cottage. You're welcome to bring your well-behaved, house-trained dog along, but please let us know when booking if your pet will be joining you. Dogs cannot be left at the home unsupervised, and be sure to pick up after them. Excess barking is a violation of the Sonoma County Vacation Rental Ordinance, so if you know your dog to be a barker, please make other arrangements for them. As part of your reservation, you’ll be asked to sign a standard liability waiver covering use of the hot tub and any recreational amenities. This ensures all guests understand and accept the safety guidelines and risks involved. Please be sure to complete this before your arrival so we can confirm your reservation.

Nestled in the Redwoods, Montesano Heights is a hillside neighborhood in Guerneville. You will find a beautiful loop walk/hike you can take directly from the house up Santa Rosa Ave then onto Duncan road connecting to Old Monte Rio road and back. Beautiful tree and river views await you on this approx. 30 minute walk.
Guest Access
Rascal's Flat is located one mile off River Road. This last mile is along a curvy and narrow hillside road. The road is paved but bumpy and steep in spots. Once you arrive, there are 2 designated parking spaces right out front. Additional street parking is scarce, so plan to carpool. RVs, trailers and campers are prohibited, per the Sonoma County Vacation Rental Ordinance. Guests will need to be comfortable walking up and down stairs to enjoy this property. Once you park, it's about 30 steps to reach the main house or 45 to reach the main house deck. The main house has keyless entry to ensure seamless access.

Parking in Guerneville can be tricky at times. We do have space for two vehicles in front of the house and driveway next to the Redwoods. However, we highly recommend car pooling if you have multiple couples, friends or family coming for your stay.
